Everything about Uptempo totally explained

Uptempo (also spelled up-tempo) is a generally used term especially in music but also in other areas meaning a fast, lively, or increased tempo or played or done in such a tempo.(External Link)(External Link) It is also used as an umbrella term for a quick-paced electronic music style. In contrast to Downtempo, Uptempo is usually intended more for dancing than relaxing and socializing, as most releases are produced for the dance floor. Rather than being a coherent genre, this term generally refers to the tempo (BPM) of the music rather than musical style or composition - since DJs mix together records with similar tempos, it's often necessary for them to delineate between slower and faster music.
Examples are Holly Valance's "Downboy" and Sarah Connor's "One Nite Stand (of Wolves and Sheep)" featuring Wyclef Jean.
